How Patients Access Care

Three Ways to Access D&Y Care.

Most patients use commercial insurance or Medicare. Private pay is available for anyone who needs it.

Commercial Insurance

Most major commercial plans are accepted. If your plan is listed above, coverage for telehealth psychiatric services will be verified before your first appointment. Typical benefits include evaluation and follow-up visit coverage subject to your plan's copay, coinsurance, and deductible.

D&Y accepts Medicare and VA Community Care (TriWest). For veterans using VA Community Care, a referral from your VA primary care team or care coordinator may be required depending on your eligibility. Contact the office to discuss the VA Community Care process for your specific situation.

Insurance Questions

Common Questions About Coverage at D&Y.

The office verifies your coverage directly with your insurance plan before your first appointment. You will receive confirmation of your benefits — including your copay or coinsurance responsibility — before you log on. No surprises on your end.
Contact the office to confirm current insurance panels. The list above represents current accepted plans but may be updated. If your plan is not accepted, private pay rates are available — contact the office for current rates before scheduling.
Most plans do not require a referral for outpatient psychiatric care. Some plans may require prior authorization for the initial evaluation. The office will manage this process during insurance verification before your first appointment — you will not be left to navigate that on your own.
Veterans enrolled in VA healthcare may be eligible for community care when the VA cannot provide timely access or when community care is otherwise authorized. A referral from your VA primary care provider or care coordinator is typically required. Contact the office to discuss your specific eligibility and the referral process — Denis's background includes a 12-month psychiatric residency at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, so this process is familiar territory here.
Most major insurance plans now cover telehealth psychiatric visits at the same rate as in-person visits following federal telehealth parity requirements. Your specific plan's benefits will be confirmed during insurance verification before your first appointment.
Contact the office directly for current cancellation and late-cancellation policy details. All policy information is provided clearly before your first appointment so expectations are set on both sides.
